Fermanagh & Omagh District Council Community Plan and Local Development Plan Preferred Options Paper was launched for public consultation on 3rd October and will remain open for public consultation until 28th November 2016.

The Local Development Plan Preferred Options Paper (LDPPOP) sets out the key planning issues for Fermanagh and Omagh district , it identifies a ranges of options to address them and indicates which is the preferred option for Fermanagh & Omagh District Council.

There is some debates with the options paper over Dispersed Rural Communities (DRC’s).

The SPSS does not mention Dispersed Rural Communities (DRC’s) at all yet the existing Fermanagh Area Plan designated a number of DRC’s while the existing Omagh Area Plan has no DRC’s designated.

Developers, Landowners and farmers etc need to be involved from the outset to ensure that their land either is brought within the new settlement limits of local towns, villages and small settlements or if already in retained as such.

Key decisions in the LDP are being made at this stage and any developer/ landowner who wants to either retain their land within the existing settlements limits or get farm land brought into the new settlement limits need to be involved from the outset to help influence decisions.
