MKA Planning has recently won a planning appeal for the change of use of a domestic garage to an A1 retail unit at Robin’s Row, adjacent to Drumahoe Local Centre, Glendermott Road, Londonderry.
The proposal had been refused solely by Roads Service whom had expressed concerns regarding the restrictive nature of the site in terms of servicing vehicles.
MKA were able to overcome concerns through negotiations and provision of revised plans. The PAC accepted our case that the retail unit could be easily serviced by small lorries/vans.
Roads Service could not sustain their objection.
It is of note that no condition was imposed on the appeal decision regarding any future A1 retail occupier.
