MKA Planning have successfully obtained planning permission for a private client.
This property has been a HMO since 2007. A planning application submitted for retention was refused by the Planning Service but successfully appealed to the PAC. (PAC Ref No. 2007/A055)
This PAC decision granted temporary planning permission for the HMO use for a 3 year period expiring in 2012.
The property has continued to be used as a HMO since 2012 until today.
MKA Planning were able to highlight that as an existing HMO it would not be harmful to residential amenity or detrimental to the character of the area which is now dominated by student accommodation.
Derry and Strabane District Council have now granted planning permission for the retention of this use.
