Former M.O.D torpedo store gets planning permission for 5 houses at Kilnappy Road, Eglinton.
This application site had a ‘chequered’ planning history; an initial large scale application for redevelopment of the entire MOD facility was refused by the Planning Service under PPS 21 and contamination issues.
MKA submitted a revised proposal for 5 no. dwellings on the front part of the site formerly used as residential and administrative accommodation.
Negotiations with NIEA over this sensitive wartime site allowed redevelopment of this World War 2 facility. Contamination concerns were also overcome.
